but I was still not prepared for how good she was. Four months is just not supposed to be this easy!

I’m not even sure if there is such a term, but if there is, this sweet family would certainly be close to qualifying! They welcomed their set of boy/girl twins just slightly over a year after their second child was born. Yes, you did the math right, three babies under the age of 13 months…whew! But they didn’t focus on all the diapers, bottles, routines. They were so excited to be a family of six, and I was touched by their incredible story and strong faith. Their joy was real, and they were authentically thankful.
Being with this family on this day was such a great reminder to me. A reminder to not let the mundane details of daily life get in the way of being truly grateful for my blessings. Thank you, D family, for not only inviting me into your home but for sharing your story and hearts with me!
this session! Be prepared for picture overload, because I really did love this one. It was just one of those nights where everything was right. We had beautiful weather, a beautiful sunset and a beautiful family that shared a very beautiful love. We started our time together in a fun urban spot in Dallas where we captured color, texture and a touch of funk.
Then we headed over to a very special place in Dallas for this young mom and dad. They were married just a stone’s throw from this field and are avid cyclists who can often be found cycling around the lake. It was obvious from the first moment that we arrived that it will inevitably become a special place for little Miss. E as well. She was so at home in the midst of the (often rough!) prairie grass. We got such a kick out of watching her run her hands over the grass and smile. She was definitely in her element and will surely grow to love being in nature as much as her parents!
And this beautiful mamma is also a *very* talented artist. You can see some of her amazing paintings here. I am so flattered that they chose me to capture their family on film. Ds, you are a beautiful family with beautiful love wherever you are!
Wow, this is one loved and treasured baby girl! Her mom and dad are so in love with every single inch of her, and I must say that their love is quite contagious. I came home from my session in their home yesterday and loved on my own two little treasures all afternoon. Ks, you are a beautiful family with beautiful love — and quite photogenic I might add!
Sweet Baby R was such a trooper through our entire session, but I’m afraid we wore her out! The amazing thing to me, though, was that she didn’t really fuss, she didn’t cry. She just laid her head down and went to sleep. A new mother’s dream. This was the scene as we wrapped up.
She was so sleepy that she even let me have a little fun posing her (at 4 months)! What an absolute doll.
Have I mentioned how much I love sleeping babies lately!?
When I showed up today to photograph this family’s newest addition, the middle P girl ran out on the front porch before I hardly had my car door open and yelled “Miss. Lauren, Miss. Lauren, the baby is *out* of my mommy’s tummy!” She was so very excited and wanted to be the first to let me know. Miss. G, I’m super excited too and am so happy that your baby is so loved.
…than a sleeping baby, especially when she’s your own.
Three times a week, we have to leave to go pick up Maxwell right in the middle of Madeleine’s nap. This is the scene as I walk into her room to wake her up from her sweet sleep…peace, serenity, all is right with the world. And the amazing thing is that every time I rudely awaken her to go get her brother, she is so excited to see him that she happily complies. “Ok, Mommy, let’s go get Maxwell, I feel so much better,” is what she sweetly sings to me. You are a such trooper sweet baby girl, and I feel so very thankful that God graced our family with you! You are a true treasure to me.
This little guy was so stinkin fun! A tad unsure of sitting in the suitcases at first (can’t say that I blame him, though), but boy did he love playing peek-a-boo. He was so excited about the little game we had going, and he was up and down so much, that he completely tired his little legs out! When it got to the point that he was just poking his head over the top of the tub, mama came to his rescue. May you always find life so amusing sweet little man…
